Are you working with young people this summer? Join Interrupting Criminalization to learn more about abolitionist resources you can use when doing political education with youth!
During this event, we will share a new resource that compiles activities that we have been using over the last two decades. In the resource, we share classroom and facilitation tips, lesson plans, multimedia, and exercises that engage young people on subjects like punishment, the prison industrial complex, transformative justice, and community-based safety.
We will provide a brief overview of the resource and work through a few of the included exercises to give educators and group leaders an idea of the format, flow, and the things that have helped us when working with these units in the past.
There is limited capacity for this event. Please register if you plan to attend. Community tickets are available for educators and group leaders who cannot purchase a ticket. Donation tickets are available at any amount with a $5 recommended amount.
Presented by Interrupting Criminalization co-founder Mariame Kaba and Creative Director Eva Nagao.
This session will be recorded and live-captioned.
A link for the new resource will be shared with participants at the event.
