Building Your Own Internet
Facilitated by Chris Patch
11 AM - 3 PM (Lunch 12:30-1:30 PM)
Social media and the online world is positioned as the primary place to share our ideas and connect with our people. However, increasing censorship, surveillance, and impacts on our mental health leave us looking for alternatives.
In this workshop we will explore historical methods of sharing information and ideas in times of repression. Informed by El Paquete in Cuba, participants will share and collect media using usb/ hard drive swapping, as well as zine making.
Collaging and Tea
Facilitated by Hope Johnson and Cindy Hwang
11 AM - 3 PM (Lunch 12:30-1:30 PM)
Charting radical moments of struggle and healing, this workshop explores the natural world across time and space with a hands-on collage activity.
Participants will share tea and leave with a zine!
Songwriting and Creative Resistance in the ICE age
Facilitated by Martin Urbach
11 AM - 3 PM (Lunch 12:30-1:30 PM)
The session will be structured as a participatory singing workshop, with theater of the oppressed style games for connection, pedagogy of the oppressed style prompts for knowledge creation and music of the oppressed style music making activities to “make the revolution irresistible.” (Bambara, 1996)
