Anti-Criminalization Communiversity: 2025 Course Catalog
Moving Beyond Hierarchy, Punishment, Extraction, and Exclusion
Facilitated by Kim Wescott
September 27 & October 4, 11 & 18
1 to 3 PM
This discussion-centered course uncovers an emerging control matrix grounded in colonial capitalism, hierarchy, and an evolving U.S. penal system that produces systematic exclusion.
We will investigate how our people's life energy has been siphoned throughout history and continues to be diverted into extractive structures by operation of white supremacy, patriarchy, and violence.
Together we will explore ways to move beyond separation and extraction through human rights–centered cooperative communal development that can lead to expanding self-determined, sustaining infrastructure in Black, brown, and working-class communities.
