Anti-Criminalization Communiversity: 2025 Course Catalog
From Rosie’s to the Courtroom: Breaking Chains, Building Power
Facilitated by Kennedy Felder
October 11
11 AM to 4 PM
[break: 12:30 to 1 PM]
Facilitated by a formerly incarcerated woman who is now a Legal Aid Society intern and law student, this powerful, one-day workshop is a space for truth-telling, healing, and collective action. Together, we’ll explore how criminalization impacts Black, trans, and low-income communities in Brooklyn and beyond. Through storytelling, writing, political education, and skill-sharing, participants will reflect on their own experiences with policing, punishment, and survival—and build tools to resist and organize for justice.
This workshop is grounded in law and liberation, and in lived experience. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how systems of oppression function and how we can come out from under them stronger. A safe space for all.
